09/22/2009 |
09/22/2009: FIELD TRIP FULL! We have reached our registration limit for this year's field trip.
The field trip is free, but registration is required. Participants will board a field trip bus at the Holiday Inn parking lot by 12:45. Buses will leave the parking lot by 1 pm. The first stop is at the bluff overlooking the former Milltown Dam. Dr. Andrew Wilcox (UM) will talk about his work. Dave Schmetterling (MTFWP) will review fish studies and Tony Berthelote (UM) will talk about groundwater.
Buses will then go to the restoration reach in the former reservoir, where Doug Martin (NRDP/DOJ) will talk about the latest on management issues, focusing on the new channel construction. River Designs Group, Envirocon, and others have been invited to answer questions and provide more project details. If time allows, the tour will finish at the pedestrian bridge on the Blackfoot. Buses will return to the Holiday Inn at 5 pm. |
