EPA is calling on the Nation's governors and tribal leaders to submit nominations for projects to compete for a share of $10 million in Targeted Watersheds Grants. This grant program was first proposed by President Bush in 2002, and the Agency has awarded nearly $30 million over its two-year history. Targeted Watershed Grants support projects that protect watersheds valued for drinking water, fisheries, recreation, and other important uses. This year, the Agency again is focusing its efforts on community-driven efforts to achieve measurable clean water goals.
